In Late November
In Late November was completed in 2008. November has always been, for me, a very melancholy month. Autumn is my favorite time of year, and the end of November and approach of winter means an end to the magnificent display of color that the fall affords us. It is also a time of year when the days grow short and the first hints of winter are felt in the air. Many people view their lives in terms of seasons, with young love being Spring and Summer. Therefore, Autumn would imply a love that has been aged and deepened by the passage of time. As I grow older, I find that my friendships are more precious, my family more important, and my heart fuller, although tinged with a regretful nostalgia for all of the time that has passed. These emotions and the general mood of November is what inspired this music.
